Those who know me know that my boyfriend is not a huge fan of desserts. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw his eyes light up when talking about banana shakes.
Me being me of course, I had to mess with the traditional recipe to better suit my health ideals. But in the end, we were both very pleased with the outcome (as evidenced by his man hands holding the shakes in the photo)! These are a great dessert or snack. We’ve since found that adding a scoop or two of peanut butter is also a great variation.
- 2 bananas
- 6-8 ice cubes
- 11/2 cups of unsweetened almond milk
- 1 or 2 packets of stevia (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds (for additional fiber/antioxidants – they don’t mess with the taste but are totally optional)
